The PlayStation Move is still in its infancy and game developers are scrambling to release titles that take advantage of the new controller.  We had a chance to spend some quality time on John Daly’s ProStroke Golf on the PlayStation 3 Move and came away hopeful yet skeptical.

ProStroke Golf offers a variety of control and gives a realistic ‘feel’ using the PS3 Move controller.  How you hold the club (controller) and swing will affect the results.  The advantage of the PS3 Move controller is that it has a one-to-one response – turn the controller a certain way and your golf club will mimic those actions.  The level of detail gone into the golfing mechanic is impressive and does feel like something new added to the mix of video gaming.  A player can chose how much control and real world physics he or she wants to apply by adjusting the different modes of the game.

Unfortunately the ‘fun factor’ as a video game is where John Daly’s ProStroke Golf is lacking.  The graphics are nothing to scream about, audio commentary is very dry and poorly mixed that it sometimes feels like it was tacked on and aiming/setting up shots can be very tricky.  This game would most likely frustrate a younger group of gamers looking to dive into the action but can be fun for hardcore golfing game fanatics looking to sink their teeth into something that will turn their living room into a virtual golf course.
