Star Trek The Next Generation is probably the most beloved series of the ‘modern day’ era featuring Data, Riker and Captain Jean Luc Picard.  On July 23, 2012 NCM Fathom and CBS TV are presenting a special ‘one day’ screening of two classic Star Trek TNG episodes on the ‘big screen’ (select theaters) in High Definition to help celebrate not only the 25th Anniversary of the show but the upcoming release of Star Trek TNG Season 1 on Blu-ray.

Star Trek fans all over the U.S. will have a chance to sit back and enjoy ‘Where No One Has Gone Before‘ and ‘Datalore‘ from season 1 of the show.  ‘Where No One Has Gone Before’ introduced us to The Traveler and features some interesting space exploration moments while ‘Datalore’ first introduced us to Data’s evil twin android brother ‘Lore‘.

The Datalore episode featured a space creature called ‘The Crystalline Entity‘ which should look impressive on a large screen in HD – but we’re all a bit concerned on how Data’s early make-up will look projected.

The BIGGEST question in our minds is NOT about the technology or the HD transfer of the show but how LOUD will the audience react to the famous ‘Shut up, Wesley’ line from the Datalore episode – bring on the fun!
