Celebrating the Disney Infinity 10-Year Anniversary with a retrospective on the original video game from Disney and the Avalanche Software team. Disney Infinity was released on August 18, 2013, for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, WiiU, and Windows.
At the heart of Disney Infinity was the innovative “Toys to Life” genre. Placing figures on the Infinity Base would import them into the game, alongside playset pieces and the colorful Disney Infinity Discs. This enchanting mechanic brought our favorite characters into the digital realm, making us feel like genuine adventurers in our beloved Disney universes.
The game also introduced us to the revolutionary Toy Box mode, where we could unleash our creativity and design our very own levels. With endless possibilities at our fingertips, we were able to craft unique stories and experiences to share with friends and fellow gamers.
Disney Infinity released with the following playsets and expansions Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters University, The Incredibles, Cars, The Lone Ranger, and Toy Story in Space. Disney Infinity was followed up by two sequel games before the franchise ended.
