The Call of Duty series hasn’t always been known as a technical showpiece on consoles but it has hit the magical 60 frames per second number that fuels its hectic fast-paced gameplay very well, so when changing generations people began to wonder where the series could go with a bit more power to use. Call of Duty Ghosts on the next generation of consoles is a slightly cleaner experience, but that’s about it. A lot of games making the jump to next-gen are using the 60 fps footnote as the big thing that they are doing to showcase the new
You know what? I really don’t know why you should explore the dungeon either. Easy jab aside, I was really looking forward to the release of Adventure Time: Explore The Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! ever since I got the opportunity to play the game at PAX Prime 2013. WayForward Technologies and D3 Publisher’s licensed dungeon crawler is little more than a hack-and-slash occurrence whose novelty wears off rather quickly. I call it an occurrence because it takes a bit more action for a game to qualify as an adventure in my eyes. As a loyal fan of the source
November 2013 made a huge splash with the release of two brand new consoles from Microsoft (Xbox One) and Sony (PlayStation 4). Typically there’s not much ‘hype’ to December games as Oct/Nov are technically the holiday release schedule window but there is a handful – mostly on the iOS side like The Room 2 and Space Hulk. Other notable releases are Grand Turismo 6 for the PlayStation 3 and possibly The Walking Dead Season Two (though it doesn’t have a hard release date). Another game we expect to see in Dec that was bumped from Nov is Peggle 2 –
We enjoyed Frozen — tons of fun and stunning visuals! Kristen Bell did an outstanding job dramatically as Anna but it was Olaf (played by Josh Gad) the snowman who stole the show for comedy relief. Frozen in 3D works well because snow and ice just automatically lends itself to this effect. The movie was heavy on songs and sometimes felt a bit more ‘theatrical’ then it needed to be — sort of like an animated opera.
We had a chance to crack open the Call Of Duty Ghosts Prestige Edition for the Xbox One this week which retails for $199.99. The quality of production is stunning and will make a fine addition to your other Call Of Duty collectibles – this is for extreme fans of the Call Of Duty franchise as the bundle isn’t cheap. Probably the biggest highlight is the 1080 HD Tactical Camera – we’ll include all the details below! 1080p HD Tactical Camera: Film, edit, and share custom made videos with a mountable 1080p HD Tactical Camera, modeled from actual in-game equipment.
GameStop sent out an email earlier today announcing they’ll be carrying a new Skylanders Swap Force figure available for sale Dec 7, 2013. The image was purposely blurred out but clever Skylanders collectors can easily tell that the figure will be the as-yet-released Skylanders Jolly Bumble Blast variant. No information yet on if this figure can be pre-ordered or purchased online or not.
Residents of Los Angeles are quite spoiled with comic conventions throughout the year with Comikaze, Wondercon and the Long Beach Comic Con. Out of those three the Long Beach Comic Con has the longest history to it and has featured a variety of celebrity talent and guests over the years. Nothing can quite top the level of excitement and attendees as the ‘big one’ – San Diego Comic-Con International but these smaller shows pose a charm unto themselves. For this year’s Long Beach Comic Con things seemed a bit more ‘exciting’ — we couldn’t quite put our finger on it
Sugar and everything nice was thrown out the window for this panel full of spice. Catherine Cavadini (Blossom), Tara Strong (Bubbles), and E.G Daily (Buttercup) were there to bring life to the Powerpuff Girls again. Andre from Black Nerd Comedy and Lisa Foiles were there to moderate the panel, adding to the fun. Fans of everything from My Little Pony to Rugrats and even Lollipop Chainsaw came to see these three wonderful women. The panel kicked off with an auction for the complete Powerpuff Girls series signed by the terrific trio. The proceeds went to a charity called Bronies for
Talk show host Conan O’Brien has been making a name for himself in the video game industry with his ‘Clueless Gamer‘ segment in which he plays and reviews games in a casual and comical style. Conan made an appearance at Blizzcon 2013 to film coverage and segments – mostly talking and trying out the popular MMO World Of Warcraft. Conan’s brand of humor and style is unique in that it fits right into the ‘gaming attitude’ as well as the main- stream public – you get a sense that even though Conan is ‘playing’ the confused-oblivious guy that he’s quite
Old school beat-em-ups have fallen to the wayside ever since the rise of 3D gaming. The audience has become more and more niche, despite titles like Castle Crashers and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Every game needs a hook now rather than throwing the player at some thugs and expecting magic to happen. When the 3DS was announced, I thought games would use it as a way to illustrate depth, not breasts. With such a fan-service oriented gimmick, Sengan Kagura Burst seemed like it would be nothing more than an exhaustively long boob joke. Imagine my surprise when despite the
