This past weekend Mike (BlankLogo Photography) and Robert hit up the SoCal Cosplay Gathering which took place at a park in Irvine, California. This event happens about twice a year and is organized independently from a group of friends who love to cosplay and want to share their outfits and time with other fans of cosplay. Cosplaying is all about dressing up as your favorite anime or video game character with costumes made from scratch. In California we are lucky to have a wide variety of cosplayers who show up to all the events.
Beyond hanging out and modeling for photographers the SoCal Cosplay Gathering had Rock Band and Super Smash Bros Brawl tournaments, plenty of food and sodas as well as giveaways and contests like one for ‘best cosplay outfit’ which went to our friend Anela who can be found in the COIN-OP TV’s Anime Expo 2007 interviews.
Attendance has grown with each gathering and this time almost reached 400 so be sure to check things out again when they have the next get together and tell ’em that COIN-OP TV sentcha!
