When the first Prototype game was released in 2009 it was right around the same time as inFAMOUS – both featured open world gameplay with a protagonist full of power and the ability to do just about anything he wanted. Most of the talk the first time around was ‘which game was better’ and tons of people answered inFAMOUS – mostly because of the ‘moral’ decisions they faced in the game.
This time around Prototype 2 doesn’t have to face that direct comparison and made a good attempt at bringing a bit of moral dilemma and feeling into the game with the introduction of James Heller. Prototype 2 kicks off with an exposition scene between Alex Mercer (from Prototype) and newcomer James Heller – in which Mercer infects Heller with the dreaded (yet powerful) Blacklight virus. Gamers spend the rest of the game doing what they did last time around (if they played the first Prototype) destroying things, killing people and leveling up their abilities.
Prototype 2 will appeal to gamers who want an open-world-indestructible-hero-killing-machine in the style of Crackdown, Hulk and inFAMOUS. The last Prototype offered much in the way of blades and tech enhancements for its anti-hero Mercer while this time around Heller has organic-like powers.
Since there is currently no demo offering of Prototype we’d have to recommend a ‘rent’ or ‘borrow’ of the game to try it out as there wasn’t much to keep us interested longer then a weekend of gory gruesome killing, running, flying, exploding and absorbing. We’ve provided some general gameplay of Prototype 2 to wet your appetite – enjoy!
Prototype 2 from Radical/Activision is available now for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with a Windows PC release date of July 24, 2012.

[..YouTube..] what a bunch of dumb asses. “so you jump down on a guy from the top of 40 story building right?” right…that sounds totally unappealing and boring, but nice effort trying to make it sounds fun

[..YouTube..] i don’t know why everybody hates Mercer that much, he’s the most badass guy ever, and he only did what he tough was best for humanity

for your first point, Heller won, for your second, so did Hitler.
do that in real life, or better yet have it done to you, and then say its unappealing and boring.
well done sir you have just convinced me
I didn’t think something so short would work!
I find that hard to believe, my first point is only true when the game is “beaten” and my second was an invocation of Godwin’s law.
you still did
okay, so long as you see the flaws in my argument.
don’t worry i think you didn’t use it badly here
