Calling yourself a PINBALL fan in 2011 can be a challenging task. A bowling alley here and there or laundry-mat are about the only places you can regularly find arcade and pinball machines. Those lucky enough to find a working pinball machine are most likely to come across one of the newer Stern-made ones which favor movie licensing over tried and true gameplay.
Lucky for us in Los Angeles – a pinball collector and enthusiast named Molly has decided to open up a public space for friends and fans to come play pinball games from her personal collection. PINS AND NEEDLES is located in the heart of Los Angeles and features over 20 pinball machines, all of which are in outstanding working condition. Molly is a ‘hands on’ collector who knows her way around both ‘EM’ and ‘Solid State’ pinball machines.
Molly’s collection consists of some gems from the 1970s through 1990s – highlighted by ‘Space Invaders’ (1980), Firepower (1980), Black Rose (1992) and White Water (1993) all in great working condition. The atmosphere and decor is that of a basement arcade or lounge – very relaxing with tons of interesting things to check out and let your eyes wander.
Be sure to investigate Pins and Needles for yourself –
bring a full pocket of quarters because you are gonna need them!

If any of you are ever in Pittsburgh, there is an AWESOME pinball arcade here, with hundreds of machines. It’s actually where they hold the pinball championships every year.

Molly has a great attitude and I’m sure Pins & Needles reflects her personality. Haven’t had a chance to visit yet but I know Pins & Needles is the BOMB!
