The Microsoft Press Conference E3 Expo 2017 kicked off with a sizzle reel for the upcoming Xbox Scorpio system which is now officially being called the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X features 4K graphics and also enhanced visuals for 1080 TV sets. According to Microsoft, previously released video games and accessories will be compatible with the new system and the design looks similar to the Xbox One S but with a ‘space gray’ color scheme.

Forza Motorsport 7 was revealed first during the event and a brand new Porsche 911 GT2RS car was introduced on the stage. According to Microsoft, they have a 6-year partnership with the Porsche company so expect more cars to be included in the video game franchise for years to come.

Metro Exodus was announced with an extensive gameplay presentation. Previous Metro games had stunning visuals and sound production and Metro Exodus appears to have the same standard of excellence.

Assassin’s Creed Origins was announced and is set in ancient Egypt – it’ll be interesting to slide down the sides of giant pyramids. Most of what we saw looked similar to past Assassin’s Creed games as for the sneaking around and transversal of the landscape but some one-on-one combat appeared to have been lifted straight out of Ubisoft’s own For Honor video game. Assassin’s Creed Origins is planned to release on Oct 27, 2017.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be coming to the Xbox and is a large multiplayer video game from developers Bluehole. In Battlegrounds, you can ride and fight in vehicles as well as on the ground combat in this third person shooter.

Deep Rock Galatic is a cartoon-like spelunking combat game where you fight large bug-like creatures.

State of Decay 2 will have you fighting zombies and all of the humanity for your own survival once again.

The Darwin Project appears to be some kind of multiplayer video game with an emphasis on online ‘shout casters’ and will include some type of Mixer interface – aimed as a competitor to Twitch TV.

Minecraft will soon offer a crossplay option over Mobile, VR, PC and Consoles – Phil Spencer mentioned how great Minecraft looks in 4K – one can only imagine!

The Dragon Ball Z franchise will get a new game called Dragonball Fighter Z which features 3 versus 3 combat coming in early 2018.

Black Desert MMO appears to be a fighting game using third person action combat.

The Last Night looks like an anime-inspired stylized video game with a hint of the Blade Runner movie aesthetics.

The Artful Escape looks like a clever side-scrolling music-inspired video game.

CodeVein is an upcoming game from Bandai Namco that appears to be a JRPG video game with cut scenes that look liked they were lifted from anime but combat that looks more like Dark Souls – coming in 2018.

We got to see more Sea of Thieves gameplay from Rare with an emphasis on this video game being part of a shared world.

Tacoma looks like an indie video game with mosaic colors coming in August 2017.

Super Lucky’s Tale looks like a refreshing take on colorful 3D platformers where you play a fox-like character collecting gold, digging through dirt and smashing objects set for a Nov 2017 release.

Cuphead finally has a release date which is Sept 29, 2017!

We got to see an extensive Crackdown 3 gameplay trailer which stars Terry Crews and is developed by Sumo Digital. Crackdown 3 looks to have cell shaded graphics much like Borderlands and plenty of carnage and destruction.

Ashen is a new IP that is an open world combat adventure video game.

Square Enix will be continuing their Life is Strange franchise with Life is Strange Before The Storm coming in Aug 2017 – telling its tale in 3 parts.

We got to see more of Middle-earth Shadow of War which expands upon the ‘Nemesis System’ introduced in the last game. This time around you can recruit brutes to help you in the battle against Sauron’s army.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps seems like an escapist video game with colorful characters and a moody soundtrack.

The Microsoft Press Conference E3 Expo 2017 closed out with Anthem from BioWare and EA. Anthem looks like a promising new IP where you wear Exo-Suits called Javelins to travel around the open world and fight. These Exo-Suits have different classes and you appear to be playing as a female protagonist. Much of the game design and action looked like something from the Crysis video game series.
