Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure DLC is out now for the Nintendo Switch as part of their season pass or an independent download. We already gave Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle high praise last year when it was released from Ubisoft with a collaboration with Nintendo so we were excited to get our hands on some new content for the video game!

For the new Mario + Rabbids Donkey Kong Adventure DLC you get to play as two new characters; Donkey Kong and Rabbid Cranky along with returning character and everyone’s favorite selfie-taker Rabbid Peach. Donkey Kong is a strong character with tons of hit points who can pick up people and objects to toss around the field of play. Donkey Kong can also reach vertical heights on his own and you can use his banana weapons to ricochet attack against numerous enemies at the same time.

RabbidCranky has tons of personality as an old man with a walking stick but he has plenty of fun new abilities in the game like being able to put opponents to sleep which restricts them for a turn. Rabbid Cranky can also shoot and freeze opponents when Donkey Kong picks him up and tosses him near enemies so be sure to take advantage of that extra ability. Finally, Rabbid Peach is familiar if you have played the original game with her same abilities – we used her mostly for ranged attacks and healing.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure DLC Review Final Thoughts:

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure DLC is a great addition to the game with about 8-10 hours of gameplay to finish everything depending on your skill level on solving puzzles. There is a water puzzle towards the end of the game that was pretty challenging and even got us a bit frustrated at times so be ready to google some hints online if you get stuck on it.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure DLC Review

The only technical hiccup we encountered was during the final boss battles in the game – there were audio and sound effects that seemed to be missing when a certain character was attacking us. This was a bit upsetting as the DLC led up to this epic battle that was definitely missing some charm due to the glitch or lack of sound effects. Outside of that minor complaint most of the time we enjoyed the new characters and levels and had a difficult time putting down the controller!
