Frank O’Connor recently opened up a bit to The Guardian about the new game mode debuting with Halo 4. Spartan Ops is an episodic online co-op campaign with years of content coming.
We have the Spartan Ops story mapped out, at least loosely, for a few years. The first season is very rigid at this point and we know where this story goes. If it’s successful, if people enjoy it, we have a narrative arc that can last for years, with a known beginning, a middle and an end.
Halo 4 will re-ignite the fight Nov. 6 2012.

It looks good though. I don’t like the HUD changes – they look really intrusive compared to how smooth it was in H3.
I must say though, at least it isn’t the Flood taking centre stage as the opponents.
