DmC aka Devil May Cry is one of Capcom’s most loved and recognized franchises. Fan reaction was mixed when they saw images come through for the ‘new look’ Dante – gone was the long black coat and brooding vampire-like hair and attitude. The ‘new DmC’ Dante has short hair and looks like something from a ‘boy band’.
Concerns on the ‘new look’ aside – DmC gameplay is just as fun, fast and exciting as it was in the past. It’s unlikely that we’ll see any ‘new Dante’ cosplayers anytime soon but from our short playthrough of the latest build we were highly entertained and intrigued for more. Ninja Theory is new on the development team – which is good news because their last game Enslaved was a groundbreaking and fun experience. There’s tons of attacks that revolve around basic gun/sword play then there’s the extra stuff that comes from your Demon and/or Angel powers – players also have freedom of movement with the camera.
We’ll have more info on the Devil May Cry reboot when the game becomes available for a full review – stay tuned!
I myself believe that the reboot was actually needed. I’ve played every Devil May Cry and the fourth one I enjoyed playing but I’m guessing Nero was born due to not knowing what to do with Dante in a story. He’s near invincible and has beat the strongest demons. What do you do after that? Continue Nero. Or something with Vergil? Anything you can think about would be considered less interesting than the old games and not about Dante. But a reboot. Catches attention and is interesting/new.
[..YouTube..] The DmC may not be a bad game, but its game play is defintely not up to par with the perious games in terms of graphic, smoothese (30 vs 60 fps), and deep of game play (combo ability & cancellation). Capcom should just name this game a different ip if they have so much confidence with it instead of destroying a already well-known video game icon.

Actually I seen a lot of gameplay videos and live stream like the voice of Dante (Reuben) said its everything DMC ever was and more meaning all of its old features is still there just as combo/jump canceling is still there and they even added aerial dodge cancel…though jump canceling is more effective and combo streaming is still there and they even added the ability to link combos so start off with a Rebellion combo and end it with a Arbiter combo finisher(something new to DMC).
Graphic-wise maybe we have own preferences but we really can’t compare this to DMC1-3 just DMC4. However they seem to updating and polishing the graphics since E3 but character model wise its better than DMC4 becuz its more detailed….very detailed….really detailed they literally look like real people almost as if u were looking at at them with a magnifying glasses…so much detail and the graphics does look more refreshing than DMC4. However background wise…I guess its the scenery but….
DMC IMO has better backgrounds or more detailed backgrounds than DmC though DmC still has pretty neat backgrounds and scenery but DmC’s environments look more lively than DMCs environments like DMC environments look well stationary or just stiff while DmC’s environments are very lively and I can literally see the wind pass by. I know someone who played the game at Comic-Con and they said the game plays faster than DMC4 and someone on Youtube made a video comparing the 2 games speed..I forgot who
