Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth feels like you have stepped directly inside of an anime show with its look and character design. The story progresses as you talk to people in the different areas to learn important things that will help you hack or fight your way through the game. When it’s comes time to battle — Digimon fans can expect the typical turn-based style of combat where one uses attacks and abilities to attack or counter an opponent. The combat in the beginning of the game is pretty easy but ramps up quickly as the game progresses.
Aesthetically, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is pretty to look at when moving around the world but the characters all have generic names and there is an abundance of dialogue to read on screen. The graphics inside the Digimon combat arenas are a step-down from the rest of the game with very limited animation of the Digimon characters themselves.
Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth offers plenty for the Digimon fan to enjoy like access to over 200 Digimon fan favorites like Agumon, Patamon and Gaomon however its charms may be limited to newcomers of this genre.
