DesignerCon has become a mecca for talented artists to show off their creations once a year in Pasadena, CA. We have been attending the show for years and have seen it grow from something that mostly started out as a vinyl toy show into a hodgepodge of collectibles, pins, books, posters and more. One thing that stands out at DesignerCon is that the artists and vendors in attendance all seem to grasp a sense of the ‘independent spirit’ and most of them appear to be showcasing creations that were crafted by their own hand and not so much a production house.
DesignerCon 2017 was heavily promoted and the attendance level appeared to be at an all-time high which raised some to take to Twitter and other social media outlets to complain about the registration line and the time it took to gain access inside the event. DesignerCon has always been a boutique event for artists and fans to interact and the show wouldn’t be the same if attendance doubled or tripled. According to reports, DesignerCon 2018 will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center which will open things up for more table space as well as foot traffic.
