Variety released details about an upcoming licensing deal between Shout Factory (Shout Studios) and Golden Princess Library. This partnership will give fans of classic 1980s and 1990s Hong Kong cinema a chance to celebrate with a library of over 150 released in the United States.
Most of these films have been tied up in licensing and legal battles for many years with no hope in sight but Shout Factory has come to the rescue once again championing classic Hong Kong cinema!
Some highlights from this collection would include Hard Boiled, The Killer and A Better Tomorrow all from John Woo, in addition to Ringo Lam’s City on Fire and Full Contact, and films by Tsui Hark and Johnnie To.
