2K Games and Irrational Games finally announced the release date for one of the most anticipated games of 2012: BioShock Infinite. The game is the third title in the BioShock series and puts you in the shoes of agent Booker DeWitt.  Your job is to infiltrate Columbia – a floating utopia turned nightmare – and rescue Elizabeth, a captive of the infamous Songbird. Even just the little bit we saw at E3 2011 and the small amount of data we have received since then, would convince even the greatest of skeptics of this game’s potential.   It was simply jaw-dropping to watch Booker navigate the Sky Lines and battle the different factions mid-air.  The fluidity of the movements and camera control will impress you, if nothing else.

Ken Levine, Creative Director of Irrational Games had this to say:  “After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition.  BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”

BioShock Infinite will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in North America on October 16, 2012 and worldwide on October 19th.
