Square Enix has made some bold moves over the years but soon they may be known as the only company BOLD enough to release franchise-level games in the summer.  Last year they released Deus Ex Human Revolution in August and this year we’ll see Sleeping Dogs released some time in the summer.

Sleeping Dogs (formally True Crime) looks much like a cinematic Hong Kong action film that would make even John Woo proud.  The story follows Wei Shen, an undercover police officer, battling the feared Hong Kong Triads.  An early look at Sleeping Dogs makes us think Batman Arkham City but instead of stealth and detective work we’re transported to a stylized and high paced open world action game set in China.

Hailey Bright of COIN-OP TV traveled to San Francisco earlier in the week to interview the Lead Designer on the game, Mike Skupa from United Front Games.  This exclusive interview showcases some early gameplay footage from Sleeping Dogs and an update on what gamers can expect from the game.
