‘The Kid with the Golden Arm‘ from 1979 is a Shaw Brothers martial arts film directed by Chang Cheh. ‘The Kid with the Golden Arm’ stars all six members of the famed ‘Venom Mob’ including Lo Meng, Philip Kwok, Sun Chien, Feng Lu, Chiang Sheng and Pai Wei. ‘The Kid with the Golden Arm’ was recently released on Blu-ray by Arrow Films as part of their Shawscope Volume 2 Collection.
The story is about a mercenary gang hired to protect a huge collection of gold. But along the way, they keep getting attacked by a rival gang with fierce martial artists. Philip Kwok showed off some amazing skills and acrobatics in the movie. There was a lot of fighting, and the different styles made it exciting to watch.
The only downside was that the story had a lot of traps and double-crossing, which slowed things down a little. But overall, it was a great showcase of martial arts and action!
