The Thundercats cartoon has been looking to reinvent themselves for a new generation.  With a younger Lion-o and a reworked story, this side-scroller is definitely destined for many a child’s stocking this year. Snarf!

Going around punching bad guys is always satisfying; too bad that’s all Thundercats ever amounts to. The first 5 minutes of gameplay are the best summary you’ll find.

In Thundercats DS you’ll go through a bunch of expendable enemies, fight a boss, next level. This wouldn’t seem as bad if the combat wasn’t so repetitive. Cameos from the rest of the cast make for some great super moves but you begin with one that can be better than the aforementioned moves. The music was forgettable among the constant reusing of  the signature catchphrase that Thundercats is known for.

While being mediocre isn’t a terrible thing there are better ways to waste your time, unless you really love the new series.  (Editor’s Note: As of this article the revamped Thundercats cartoon is currently in ‘limbo’)
