thewonderyearsIt seems like we waited forever for The Wonder Years to finally make their way to DVD but thankfully the team at StarVista Entertainment have put together a high-quality collection of the episodes with most of the classic music intact and loaded with bonus features.

We had a chance to watch through The Wonder Years Season One a two-disc set featuring all six episodes from the short but classic first season of the show.  The quality and production of the jacket, discs and booklet inside are all top-notch.  The Wonder Years series has been held up from a DVD release for many years due to music licensing but thankfully the Joe Cocker sung theme song and many others have finally made their way into an archived production.

The Wonder Years DVD comes with an extensive amount of bonus features like the 2014 cast reunion, interviews with the creators of the show and individual interviews with key cast members including Fred Savage, Danica McKellar and Josh Saviano.

For those of us who remember The Wonder Years the first time around it will bring back plenty of joy and memories – the show was crafted with care and most of the story-lines about growing up in a small town are still relevant today.  For those new to The Wonder Years – they may be turned off a bit by the lack of ‘production polish’ as the show was on a modest TV budget and for some the grain and pacing could be a turn-off.

The Wonder Years DVD can be purchased by single seasons as well as a boxed set that includes the entire six season run.  It’s a perfect holiday stocking stuffer or something to add to your own collection!
