Published on May 1, 2007 by in News & Events

Sony’s thinly-sliced rhythm game franchise Parappa the Rapper is heading to PSP this July in North America. ThePSP game is actually a re-release of the original Parappa the Rapper which debuted 10 years ago on the original PlayStation, helping spark the rhythm game market in the West.

The PSP version will be updated with four-player wireless ad-hoc play and other features including the ability to download eight additional playable remixes of songs.

SCEA sr. marketing manager John Kollar said in a statement that re-releasing the game will help older gamers re-connect with the franchise while introducing the series to a new, younger audience.

The Parappa the Rapper franchise also made an appearance on the PS2 in 2002.
