Monster Energy Supercross The Official Videogame from Milestone S.r.l. and Square Enix will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on February 3, 2018. We had a chance to check out Monster Energy Supercross at a private media event last week and were able to play a handful of races and numerous tracks. Monster Energy Supercross includes the Milestone signature ‘rewind system’ that will allow you to backtrack and redo any part of the race much like a mulligan in Golf.

Monster Energy Supercross is an arcade-style racer which means you don’t have to worry about parts of your bike effecting the race it is more of a casual game than a hardcore simulation. The best thing about the game so far is using the right thumb-stick to lean your rider left or right and forward and back. This leaning mechanic helps give a sense that you are knee deep in the mud and dirt of the race and able to tweak your cycle just a bit here and there to help maneuver the course.

Visually the game won’t stand out as impressive but there’s enough going on screen to keep your eyeballs satisfied. You can also try to pull off complicated tricks in the air by pushing on both controller thumbsticks at a time to pivot your bike. The biggest challenge we had in our short time with the game was staying on the track as it can be a challenge trying to figure out where to go and when turns are approaching.
