Gravel is an upcoming off-road racing game coming in 2018 from Milestone S.r.l. and Square Enix. We had a chance to get our hands-on Gravel at a private Square Enix media event last week. Gravel is built from the Unreal Engine 4 and offers gamers the chance at ‘arcade-style’ racing which basically means putting you in the driver seat in a more casual fun style of play as opposed to a racing simulator.

During our time with the Gravel video game, we had a chance to preview a handful of different cars and trucks along with a variation on tracks and weather conditions. The graphics and sound presentation look nice when the sun is shining on a track however the rain effects could use some enhancing. It’s clear that Gravel is not going to be a ‘showcase’ video game on presentation but offers much in the way of fun factor racing in cars and trucks. Some of the tracks felt like they were lifted from one of The Fast and the Furious movies as we were able to leap over a moving train during our race.

Gravel is expected to release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on February 28, 2018, from Milestone S.r.l. and Square Enix. Gravel will feature both single-player and multi-player video game modes.
