There was so much wrong with the storytelling that I was playing it in the end for the battle system alone – the game’s one saving grace.
The characters were two dimensional and literally had one trait that made them who they were, except for Sazh and Fang,

The battle system was fantastic in FFXIII. The major problem I seen was that they literally held your hand for 11 chapters of the game. ELEVEN FUCKING CHAPTERS!!!!! Way too linear in every way with character growth, story and even just moving around in the environment. big mistake.
