Activision is taking Call of Duty back to its roots with Call of Duty WWII which takes place during World War II. Call of Duty WWII looks like a gritty true to life first-person shooter with plenty of ground combat and slick Hollywood cinematics. Eric Hirshberg, Activision CEO, was quick to shut down the idea that Activision was ‘copying’ Battlefield 1 by stating that Call of Duty WWII had been in development for more than two-and-a-half years by Sledgehammer Games.

Call of Duty WWII will release on November 3, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Zombie fans will be happy to note that a new unique ‘take’ on the Nazi Zombies co-op mode will be introduced with Call of Duty WWII. The Call of Duty WWII reveal trailer is now available on YouTube and has a much higher like to dislike ratio as of now – making it seem like Activision has made the right choice to go back in time instead of forward.
