BLUR was the first game we got to check out from Activision last week.  This game looks insanely attractive.  The graphics are colorful, smooth and vibrant and the sound effects feel like something lifted from The Matrix or Tron Legacy.  Blur is a polished and fast paced car racing game with power-ups added to the mix.  The developers explained that using the power-ups is a matter of weighing in on offense versus defensive tactics.  Blur offers a career mode with over 50 cars to pick from but it’s the multiplayer and social aspect of this game that is going to make it shine.

Blur allows for up to 20 players for online multiplayer, 4 player split-screen multiplayer and also by system link.  Want to brag to your friends? No prob – Blur has an excellent social media interface that will send out to your twitter account, people on your friends list and more!  Blur looks fun to watch and is fun to play!

Next in line – TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON which also looks stunning.  The team at High Moon Studios have out-done themselves and you can see their love for the ‘generation one’ Transformers.  We got to play as Optimus, Bubble Bee and Ratchet through a level in the game that was full of lush graphics and thrilling sound effects.  Transforming between robot and car/plane was easy and fluid – shoot at an enemy while driving towards him in car form then pop out and transform to smash him in the face as you get closer.

The look and feel of Cybertron comes together nicely all the way down to the menus.  There are no humans in this game because it is prior to their trip to earth but the storyline will explore how Bubble Bee and Optimus originally meet and how Starscream and Megatron became comrades.  Multiplayer offers four classes each with their own different weapons and abilities and the option to play up to 10 players at the same time.

Blur ships on May 25th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and Cybertron comes out June 22nd, 2010
