BLIZZCON is a celebration of all things Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo from Blizzard Entertainment.  This year ushered in major announcements including more on Diablo III and the female character ‘Demon Hunter‘ class, Jay Mohr returned once again to host the masquerade/dance competition and comedy rock band legend Tenacious D closed out the show with a live performance on the main stage.

We had a chance to roam the show floor on Friday afternoon to soak up the atmosphere and play through some of the games in the press room.  Diablo III looks about as pretty as it did last year and getting our hands on World of Warcraft: Cataclysm made us salivate even more for the December 7th 2010 release date.  Blizzcon had an art show setup like last year with fantastic drawings and sculptures from the Blizzard universe and plenty of cosplayers around to take photos with.

Our friends Geoff Keighley and Kat Hunter got an upgrade on their stage presentation for interviews and announcements (pictured) and we got to try on some spiffy wardrobe options from JINX clothing.  JINX had a line wrapped around the booth and their media relations guy told us that just about everyone there was in line to purchase the brand new Murlock hoodie, (see pictured) which was available for the first time.  More fun from the show floor was had in the Retro Arcade booth which contained company related games from 1991 through 1998 including Blackthorne, Lost Viking 1 & 2 as well as the original Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo.

Overall the experience of Blizzcon 2010 was much like last year – however the anticipation level increased as we get closer to the release of Cataclysm and more from Blizzard.
