Dust off the Nintendo Wii cause Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is offering up two new licensed property video games in Batman: The Brave and the Bold and The Lord of the Rings: Aragon’s Quest.

Aragon’s Quest is the first time a Lord of the Rings game has been made for the Nintendo Wii.  Controls feel similar to Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as for moving around, locking on targets and slashing with the Wii remote.  You can explore the extensive LOTR universe as different characters and also have a friend drop in for co-op play.  We played Aragon’s Quest on the Wii and were disappointed with the graphics and hope that the PS3 version yields a better viewing experience.  Unfortunately, Aragon’s Quest doesn’t do much in the ‘wow’ department and falls into the category of mediocre attempts at a licensed game.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold tackles things on a completely different level.  This game is much like an old-fashion side scrolling ‘beat ’em up’ with the dynamic duo Batman & Robin assisted by a handful of familiar faces from the DC Universe.  On a positive side – Batman has fluid character animation, captivates original voice acting (who talk you through most of the adventures) and co-op play.  The music and setting is faithful to the cartoon and comic books leading to a rewarding experience.  On a negative side – Batman controls on the Wii can be ‘funky’ due to the jump button as the ‘B’ instead of pushing up on the nunchuck controller.  Also, while the look of the game is mostly satisfying there were many levels in which you fought against villains who were dark colored on a dark background.

Both games are available now for the Nintendo Wii –
