Thief First Impressions E3 Expo

Thief is an upcoming stealth action game from Square Enix coming out for the next generations of consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.  At the E3 Expo we checked out a hands-off demo of Thief running live gameplay with developer commentary.  The game has great visuals and atmosphere – definitely a step up from most games out there now.  If you were a fan of Dishonored we think you will enjoy the game as well. Thief’s hud (heads up display) only contains a small amount of info like ammo, health and mana.  We got to see some of the special

Watch Dogs First Impressions E3 Expo

Watch Dogs from Ubisoft has been building hype since last E3 when it was revealed.  We had a chance to see an extensive hands-off preview of the gameplay at E3 Expo and came away wanting more.  Watch Dogs is free-roaming game with mission objective areas/hubs – by completing objective you will unlock more areas and expand your control over the technology in the surrounding areas. The developers showed us how Watch Dogs can use tech and stealth to take on an area surrounded by guards.  You can also scan NPC’s in the game to anticipate crimes about to be committed

A new Mad Max video game was announced at the PlayStation 3 press conference at E3 from Avalanche studios the team behind Just Cause.  On the E3 show floor we had a chance to view a hands-off presentation behind closed doors. Mad Max offers a wasteland open world — think Rage or Borderlands with a heavy emphasis on vehicle combat and exploration.  The developers stressed the importance of vehicles in the game saying there were over 50 to pick offering many customization options through un-lockables and/or exploring the land.  From the build we saw the graphics and atmosphere looked great

Microsoft Press Conference Recap E3 Expo 2013

The Microsoft Press Conference started off with a bang in Konami‘s new trailer and gameplay for Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain.  It was the first time we got to see the open world gameplay in a desert setting with many characters filling in the ranks — also Snake rides a horse!  Unfortunately we didn’t get to hear much of Kiefer Sutherland‘s voice as Snake during this gameplay demo. Microsoft announce d that World of Tanks the popular free to play tank MMO would be coming to the Xbox 360 and the devs took the stage to claim that

The Evil Within Preview

The Evil Within is a third person survival horror action game developed by Tango Gameworks and Bethesda.  The game features protagonist Sebastian and has slow pacing and action much like a good horror film.  The Evil Within looks like it has elements from familiar games like the early Resident Evil franchise,  The Last Of Us and the original Dead Space. The Evil Within has great atmosphere and sound effects and the developers purposely kept very little info on the screen to help engage the players within the environment.  There are also elements of post-apocalypse and science fiction with a female
