While Assassin’s Creed Syndicate isn’t scheduled to be released until October 23, 2015 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (November 19 for Microsoft Windows), Ubisoft granted Coin-Op.TV a chance to play the game this past weekend in Seattle during PAX Prime 2015. Roaming the streets of London during the tail end of the Industrial Revolution in the year 1868, Evie Frye is the stealthy counterpart to her brutal brother Jacob that we test drove during E3 earlier this year.

The little wrinkles, like Evie’s ability to visually blend into any surface she touches while in stealth mode, are what make her an exceptional option for sneaking about and getting the drop on the Templars. That’s not to say that she can’t handle herself when confronted by a dozen enemies, countering and stunning until it’s time for a point-blank pistol execution or tossing a few electric grenades into the mob, but why get your hands dirty when there’s no need to do so?

You’ll need to play as both Jacob and Evie Frye to progress the story along, but as an effective assassin, nothing beats the finesse of a feminine touch. Combined with the previously revealed rope launcher, never more so will you feel like a Victorian caped crusader than when playing as Evie Frye in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Even if you’ve had any past concerns with the series, you’ll want to give this latest romp through London a go when it comes out later this year.
