Another year – another Anime Expo come and gone.  One of our favorites, but why?  At Anime Expo you’ll see some of the nation’s best cosplayers, the largest dealer rooms dedicated to animation and j-pop culture, movie screenings, celebrity panels and at night there’s the masquerade, concerts and more!  What makes Anime Expo special isn’t so much the dealers room but the loose and friendly vibe.  Most people attending are younger then your average convention goer (over 40k attending) and you can get a sense that these kids really look forward to the event once a year.

More highlights from the show floor were Bandai Namco’s premiere of their new Gundam series Unicorn, our friends at Rockin’ Android showcased their new games, the artist alley was full of independent goodness and lots more.  Our friend Matt Lewis hosted the ‘Cosplay Chess‘ (where cosplayers act as chess pieces) event again this year which was filled to capacity.  This was our fifth time at Anime Expo and while we prefer the charm of past venues like Anaheim and Long Beach – there’s still fun to be had at the LA Convention Center as expressed by our photos below!
