Fuel Overdose – Review

Overall the game is not for everyone. If you enjoy games like Mario Kart, car combat like Vigilante 8, and don’t mind a fixed camera and top-down view this game should be enjoyable as long as you don’t put too much stock in the story itself or over-anime’d characters. At its core Fuel Overdose is a competent battle-racer but comes up a bit short on overall fun value and the ability to retain your attention longer than a few races at a time; feel free to check out the videos of the game on COIN-OP.TV and make your own call!

PS4 Press Conference Analysis

Sony’s recent unveiling of the PlayStation 4 at the PS4 Press Conference in NYC caused the Internet to explode with glee, grief, anger, confusion and shock.  It also left me with sore legs due to its length (It finished in just over 2 hours). Now, you can watch the press conference on your own or catch play-by-plays somewhere else.  I’m more interested in breaking it down and analyzing what we saw and what was said – along with everything not shown or unsaid. First is the PS4 itself.  The X86 CPU, 8GB of RAM and 8 cores leaves a fantastic

Grid 2 – Hands-On Preview

Grid 2 promises to be an immersive experience for the racing video game enthusiast.  It looks sharp and crisp and will offer players plenty of options like street racing, road racing and circuit racing – the developers of Grid 2 want this title to have multiple aspects of all racing fused into one game. Grid 2 offers somewhat of a narrative story in which your character will start off with minimal resources and have to gain fans as ‘currency’ in order to race larger and more advanced tracks.  Codemasters has been responsible for some great racing games in the past

Top Hand Rodeo Tour – Review & Gameplay

Top Hand Rodeo Tour is all about effort. You can immediately tell that SFC Rodeo Games really put in a solid effort into making a Kinect game that put you in the saddle and allow you to experience what it’s really like to take the reins to earn the title “Top Hand.” There are five main events in Top Hand Rodeo Tour: Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Mounted Shooting, Team Roping and Tie Down Roping. Though many of the challenges incorporate similar Kinect movements, like riding a horse, each event focuses on particular movements to highlight the event. For example, bull

Need For Speed Most Wanted – Review & Gameplay

Need For Speed Most Wanted is an adrenaline rush for racing enthusiasts.  The game is fast – the game is fun.  Probably our favorite thing to do in the game was cause havoc on police all over town – smashing through road blocks and swerving into cop cars is simply satisfying. Need For Speed Most Wanted features an open-world-like environment where you can drive around and hop in and out of cars trying to find a perfect match for racing.  Once inside the race you’ll enjoy high speeds and defined graphics better then most car racing games out there.  Like most NFS games

F1 2012 – Review

The word “immersive” is thrown around a lot when discussing video games. Can the game suspend your disbelief so you accept you are actually in the game? F1 2012 takes things one step further and says, you find the best way for you to play, and we’ll tailor the game around you. In this way, Codemasters has taken its premier racing simulation and turned it into a champion. First, the game started me out in the Young Drivers Test. This mode demonstrates and instructs how to drive a Formula One car to give you the very basics. This was perfect

Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad – Review

With super easy pick up and play controls and very user friendly non-punishing arcade style, Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad is overall, an enjoyable experience. The tracks are well constructed with nice graphical quality leaving little room for confusion as to where to go. It might seem like an odd statement but if you’ve ever played a racing game with poor course design and muddy visuals, you know what I’m talking about. Five vehicle classes are available to the would be dirt track champ. Each handles a little differently but mostly they just escalate in speed as you move from Sprotsman Buggies

DiRT Showdown – Review

We’ve all got our prejudices, and anyone that tells you different is a liar. I really, reeeally, wanted to dislike DiRT: Showdown, the new arcade-style racing game published by Codemasters and developed by Codemasters Southam. Ever since Codemasters released that train wreck of a third person shooter Damnation back in 2009, I have taken all of their game releases with entire tablespoons of salt. That being said, after only a few events in DiRT: Showdown, I was completely hooked and pleasantly surprised. Given a fair shot, even non-racing fans will be in for a hell of a fun time. Much

BioShock Infinite delayed again

We all want it. But sadly BioShock Infinite has been delayed again. In a message to the fans Ken Levine stated the reason for the delay as… “BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies weren’t the Big Daddies you’ve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryan’s golf club didn’t have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one

Trials Evolution – Review

Trials Evolution is a physics-based action sports racing game that combines the addictive nature of early Tony Hawk Pro-Skater titles with the adrenaline-fueled exploits of motorsports and X Games legend Travis Pastrana. Trials Evolution isn’t the game that players deserve, but the one we need right now to cleanse our palette of the mediocrity that has filled our free time. Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Trials Evolution is one of those rare, high quality titles that take only a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. After choosing your motorbike and rider gear, all of which are unlockable and
