Microsoft Press Conference Recap for Xbox ONE

Microsoft Press Conference revealed much about their upcoming system like the official name ‘Xbox One‘ and that it would be released later this year in 2013.  An extensive time (the first 30 minutes) was spent showing off the new interface, tech specs, system design and controller.  The machine looks very robust and ‘strong’ like a tank – the new controller looks very similar to the old one but will have a new updated design — hopefully fixing any d-pad issues we’ve had over the years. Microsoft presenters used buzzwords like ‘intelligent tv’ when talking about the new interface – trying

Yuke’s sequesters Lingerie Football League license

Like a hero soldier throwing himself on a live grenade to save his comrades, developer Yuke‘s has signed a deal with the Lingerie Football League to keep it out of the hands of others who might seek to actually make a video game out of it. At least that’s what I hope is happening here. The deal does specify a line of games to be released. But that’s just a cover right? Yuke’s will surely come up with new excuses year after year as to why no games are being released thus keeping the license in their possession and the

E3 2012 – Microsoft Press Conference Recap

Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference immediately began sucking people in with a live-action trailer sequence that seamlessly transitioned into in-game footage of Halo 4.  With single-player gameplay footage being widely anticipated for this press conference, Microsoft and 343 Studios wasted no time or words before stepping into the action. Immediately, it was easy to notice the jump in graphical detail – in the effects, environments and creatures.  I also noticed in the demonstration that they focused heavily on enemy intelligence and gun reclamation.  While what they showed in the demo was short, it was exactly what the people were looking to

Major League Gaming comes to Anaheim

Major League Gaming (MLG) is a big deal – trust us!  More then $1 million dollars will be awarded throughout the year to MLG professional gamers.  Thousands of spectators and gamers participate in their ‘Pro Circuit Competition’ which takes place in numerous locations across the United States. MLG Anaheim 2011 eSported the games Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3), Halo: Reach (Xbox 360) and Starcraft II (PC).  Last year’s MLG included Madden which was absent this time around.  The vendor booths were spread out more yet main event stages were jammed into the back corner – making it difficult to

E3 2011 – EA Press Conference

E3 2011 – EA Press Conference Highlights from COIN-OP TV: EA starts the show with the hugely anticipated Mass Effect 3 demo – this time around skipping any talk of Kinect (which was announced at the Microsoft Press Conference) and diving right into a larger scale battle featuring our favorite hero Commander Shepard going against a giant Reaper ship. Need For Speed: The Run showed off some juicy graphics from EA’s  ‘Frostbite’ engine.  New to the NFS franchise (and most car racing games) will involve you running around on foot facing obstacles outside of racing (which look to be mostly

E3 2010 Expo reactions Day 0 (Monday)

E3 2010 highlights from the press conferences — Microsoft announced the new Xbox 360 slim (in black) and gave them out to press/media people in attendance.  No mention on if the new Xbox 360 slim is ‘red ring of death’ proof but it looks nice in design and comes Kinect friendly. From the EA press conference we were impressed by Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor and intrigued by the new Madden game.  The Ubisoft press conference was hosted by Joel McHale (whom we interviewed at the Splinter Cell red carpet) who introduced the latest Assassin’s Creed, hammed his way
