For an indie game, The Adventures of Van Helsing has a whole lot going for it. Considering Diablo III’s multiplayer wasn’t running on full blast upon release, Van Helsing offers a comparable single-player action RPG experience though its character customization and skill options aren’t nearly as robust. Pour yourself a frosty flagon of mead, dim the lights, and enjoy The Adventures of Van Helsing for what it is- an exciting gothic gaming experience that will definitely give you your money’s worth.
Special Forces Team X – Review
Unique map creation is central to Zombie Studios’ Atari published multiplayer only Special Forces Team X. At the start of each game players are presented with three voting options, each corresponding to a section of the upcoming map. Every map section matches up with every other map section giving players a ton of variation to experiment with. If the players so choose, three identical sections can be stacked side by side to create the (very disorienting) map for that game; or two of the same sandwiching a different piece of the puzzle. Or any one of many possible combinations. This
Resident Evil 6 – Review
Resident Evil 6 will be divided into two camps - those who will appreciate the Resident Evil franchise moving from survival-horror to a more action-oriented design and those who will complain about the franchise not sticking to its roots despite the fact they enjoy playing the game. Resident Evil 6 is broken in three distinct, but intersecting stories – each providing a unique perspective to the overall story. While you can experience the individual campaigns solo, couch co-op or online co-op, the places where the stories do intersect (and you’re connected to the internet), the game may place you in
7 WORST Movie Themed Video Games
Disclaimer: Before anyone goes and gets their panties in a bunch over what didn’t make this list lets establish that we all know that NES Rambo, Die Hard, The Karate Kid, Top Gun, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, the Sega Master System version of Rocky, and the Atari Texas Chainsaw Massacre suck hard. It would have been very easy to make this list all NES titles. We could have even made a top twenty five worst movie based video games list and never made it past the N64/PlayStation era. So in the interest of diversity

Tron music remixed by 8 Bit Weapon
As excitement builds for the upcoming TRON LEGACY film – let us not forget the original TRON movie from 1982 and the amazing score from Wendy Carlos! Our friends over at 8 BIT WEAPON (who make creative and fun chip-tune music) put together some clever remixes of some of the original TRON music – which like most of their stuff is free to download! From their press release: The remixes are based off of the amazing original score by Wendy Carlos for the original 1982 film Tron. We spent a lot of time cramming as much detail as possible into
Escape to The UnderGarden from Atari
The UnderGarden from Atari and Vitamin G Studios will be a download game this fall (2010) for the Xbox, PSN and PC. We had a chance to play The UnderGarden a couple weeks ago at a private media event and walked away wanting more. The game is visually stunning, making us realize what a shame it was that so many early XBL games were restricted in file size. The game features dynamic 3D graphics that are organic and change as you move through the environment. Your character is a cute and cuddly alien-looking ‘thing’ that looks like he (or she)
IndieCade 2010 – Recap and photos
IndieCade is a showcase of independent video games from across the world. The quickest way to digest IndieCade is by calling it ‘the Sundance for video games’. The video game festival is still only a few years old and sneaking its way into the hearts of Culver City and gaming journalists in Los Angeles. We had the pleasure of attending last year’s IndieCade Awards Gala, which was quaint yet festive. In 2010, the team behind the event really put a foot forward by having celebrity presenters in the form of Levar Burton, Isaiah Mustafa (aka ‘the Old Spice guy’), G4tv
