2012 is shaping up to be a huge year for PC Gaming with a large amount of ‘Free 2 Play’ MMO and RTS games just on the horizon. We had a chance to sit down and get our hands on one of the more promising ‘Free 2 Play’ games called END OF NATIONS last week – a new real time strategy coming out later this year from Trion. The development team behind End of Nations is Petroglyph Games – known for classic RTS games like Dune II and Command & Conquer. Both Dune and C&C helped change the face of real time strategy so we expect good things from the upcoming End of Nations.

End of Nations offers large maps and room for huge battles with up to 56 players. Like most games these days it offers both a challenging single player campaign as well as multiplayer. Weapons and units are customizable and the developers tell us that buy in purchases are cosmetic and not required to enjoy the game. After a couple hours of playing End of Nation it was clear that focus is more on the units then building up your home base. Be sure to check out our interview with David Luehmann from Trion Worlds to get a better idea of what gamers can expect from End of Nations.
