Our friends at Namco Bandai have done an excellent job over the years of releasing games with a rich and mesmerizing fantasy environment. Games like Enslaved and Majin The Forsaken Kingdom felt like fantasy novels come to life on our video game controller and their most popular licenses in Naruto and Dragon Ball Z appeal to their hardcore anime fans year after year.
Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch looks to take elements from popular games like the Final Fantasy series and The Elder Scrolls and mix them together into a magical cartoon-like environment. Wrath of the White Witch comes out in the Winter 2012 and will be exclusive to the Sony PlayStation 3 system. The game is developed by LEVEL-5 who was behind Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest IX, and the Professor Layton series. We’ll be keeping an eye out for this game as it looks to be a nice change of pace from the expected battle of first person shooters and other insanely ‘realistic’ games just on the horizon.
