He-Man installation at Gallery1988
Our friends over at Gallery1988 went all out with this year’s He-Man art installation titled Under The Influence: Masters of the Universe Tribute Art Show. We were expecting to see some awesome He-Man art pieces at the gallery, but got an extra treat when we found out that the entire gallery had been transformed wall-to-wall like the inside of Castle Grayskull itself! Over a hundred artists contributed to the cause and helped bring the He-Man characters to life. The art show wraps up this week but the hard work gone into this exhibit will have a lasting impression!

BusyGamer awards Hailey with Gamette trophy
The team from BusyGamer.com flew in from Texas to be the first guests on COIN-OP TV LIVE in 2010. They presented the Gamette of the Year trophy and honors to Hailey Bright in person on the show! The live broadcast also featured interviewed from Yvonne Strahovski who plays Miranda in Mass Effect 2 and an interview from the studio behind Global Agenda. Also – a video skype with Godfree and Peter from GamerTagRadio.com who spoke about their upcoming Community Vibes V event in Feb 2010.

LA RIOTS II – Street Fighter IV Tournament Results
LA RIOTS II is an invitation Street Fighter IV Tournament in which you have to win other specific tournaments to make it into the 8 player rotation. This was the second LA RIOTS tournament and was bigger and better then the first. The top four players from LA Riots I included Combofiend, Keno, Kai and Shizza who went up against the top four players from the last Bar Fights tournament which included Alex Valle, Ken I, Jayce The Ace and Yeb.
Once again the tournament was an 8 player double elimination, streamed live with multiple cameras, player profiles, professional commentary and player interviews. LA RIOTS II is shaping up to be a major force in the Street Fighter IV playground and ties into other competitions through cross promotions and player involvement. The grand finals came down to an exciting match between experienced pro Alex Valle (Ryu) and upcoming star Shizza (Chun-Li) with Alex taking home the grand prize of $500 cash, a trophy and the top three players walked home with brand new Arcade Sticks from MadCatz!

Microsoft reveals GAME ROOM at CES
As part of Microsoft’s big CES 2010 announcements they showed a trailer for GAME ROOM for the Xbox 360 and PC. Trick out your arcade with awesome virtual renditions of classic arcade cabinets, complete with sound effects and graphics on the screens. For those not old enough to remember the sights and sounds of walking through an arcade this is a fantastic addition from Microsoft. GAME ROOM allows your colorful avatar the ability to walk around and explore the different arcade games so you can relive all the thrills of classic arcade machines. All this sounds great but our friends over in the MAME community have already been doing this for years.
