Capcom’s Mega Man celebrated 22 years of video gaming awesomeness on Dec 17th, 2009 and COIN-OP TV LIVE was there to help ring in a tribute by showcasing local band The Megas. The Megas are an indie band out of Los Angeles, which pay tribute to Mega Man in their music and lyrics. The Megas rocked two songs live – one from their debut CD titled ‘Get Equipped’ and another from their upcoming studio album.  The episode also featured a new video clip from BlackNerdComedy, interviews from the Spike TV Video Game Awards Red Carpet and a look at upcoming games from Hudson Entertainment.

SHAIMUS, an independent Los Angeles rock band, performed on COIN-OP TV LIVE (episode 305) and we’ve got the exclusive behind the scenes photos here!  Shaimus made a name for themselves with songs in both Guitar Hero and Rock Band and are now on tour promoting their newest album ‘The Sad Thing Is, We Like It Here’. Shaimus performed two songs on the show live and answered questions from viewers and hosts Rob & Hailey. COIN-OP TV LIVE hosts Robert Welkner and Hailey Bright welcomed Activision’s Chris Palmisano as a studio guest to talk about the making of the new video game X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Chris helped field live questions from both host and people in the chat room. COIN-OP TV LIVE is unique in that it is one of the few live/interactive shows on the video game industry produced independently as part of www.TheStream.TV network.

Topics covered during the interview revolved around the making of the game, how they tackled producing an M-rated title to coincide with the PG-13 rated movie and how star Hugh Jackman was involved early on in the project.

COIN-OP TV LIVE Season 3 kicks off with a live performance of
Guitar Hero: Metallica with Neversoft designer Andy Gentile!

COIN-OP TV LIVE hosts Robert Welkner and Hailey Bright welcomed Neversoft and Guitar Hero: Metallica designer Andy Gentile into the studio as a guest. Andy is considered the ‘Drum Master’ at Neversoft and the person responsible for further advancing the Guitar Hero franchise to include a double bass kick drum for the new ‘Expert Plus’ mode of the game.

Guitar Hero: Metallica was released in the U.S. on March 29^th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. The game features over 45 Metallica songs from their vast library which spans over three decades.

Andy Gentile helped answer numerous questions about the gameplay and the collaboration between the Guitar Hero franchise and the band Metallica. COIN-OP TV LIVE gives live viewers the unique advantage of asking questions during the show for guests to answer honestly and un-scripted.

COIN-OP TV LIVE hosts Robert Welkner and Hailey Bright took to the stage and were joined by Andy Gentile who showed off his Expert Plus skills on drums for a performance of the song WHIPLASH from Metallica’s debut album. Robert handled vocals and played expert on guitar while Hailey handled the bass. The performance came to a rousing climax in which fans at home and the audience cheered for an encore!
